GET DEAD

With their straightforward acoustic-based take on punk rock, San Francisco five-piece Get Dead was formed in 2007. Guitarists Mike McGuire and Moki Noodlez, bassist Tim Mehew, drummer Scott Powell and vocalist Sam King signed to Fat Wreck Chords for Get Dead’s debut album, 2013’s “Bad News”. While their tendency to draw from Irish folk and their stripped-down sound were unique to the label, their gritty, punky sensibilities and party-hearty attitudes aptly mirrored those of Swingin’ Utters.

Over the years Get Dead evolved to an important act in the punk scene creating a both earthy and experimental punk rock sound. The scream-like vocals of Samy King are iconic. SBÄM has therefore released their self-titled EP - originally appearing on CD in 2009. The second re-press on vinyl with brand new artwork is out in June 2021.
